It’s finally the unofficial start to summer, which means it’s Memorial Day Weekend and the weather couldn’t be any better.

Especially because this is one of the biggest beach weekends every single year.

And over the past two days the weather has been fantastic. Lot’s of sun and warmer temperatures.

Although, Saturday was a bit cooler because of a sea breeze (wind from the southeast) was being pulled in from the colder Atlantic Ocean. This made it much cooler at the beach.

But then the wind shifted for Sunday and that increased the temperatures and that made it much better… because then the highs along the Maryland coast made it to the mid 80s vs mid 60s on Saturday. (Yes I went to the beach when it was in the 60s)

Either way, you know the phrase… a bad day at the beach is better than a bad day at work. Well, maybe not all of the time. I’ve had a few wipeouts from the waves. Let’s just say there’s a lot of sand in my ears.

But the past few days have been fantastic. You just have to get past the big crowds.

I’m writing to you on Memorial Day itself and please remember to not put ‘happy’ in front of that phrase because it is to honor those who have fallen and we honor our Veterans.

Thank you for your service.

But now it is Memorial Day and I do plan on going to the beach once more. Making this a triple header, I don’t think this is ever possible this early in the beach season. Usually it rains and rains and rains or it’s cold at least one day.

Since the first two days of the weekend were fantastic I might as well go again.

The first two days were in Ocean City, MD and today may be somewhere on the Delaware beaches.

Either way there’s an ocean and sand, but some beaches are better than others.

Some have cleaner water, finer sand, and less people. It really just depends on what you prefer. And everyone almost always has that favorite beach.

But with the weather expected to be fantastic yet again let’s do that triple beach weekend. It’ll be cooler today because a cold front did come through.

So, at the beach today I’m expecting a high of 75 and mostly sunny skies. There is a northeast wind, so hopefully that doesn’t impact the temperatures too much.

I’d love to hear what you do on your weekends. I need ideas to keep the adventures going.
